AES implements on-the-ground wetland restorations, working to protect, restore, and enhance degraded wetlands. We use an ecological approach to emulate the historic, natural conditions of the project site, contributing positively to flood control, aquifer recharge, wildlife habitat, and local/regional ecosystem health.
In land development projects, we incorporate wetlands into bioengineered infrastructure and recreational green space, using native plants both as vital components of biodiversity as well as tools for stormwater management and aesthetic enhancement.
AES’ experienced restoration team builds and supervises a wide variety of wetland projects, with specialized equipment, techniques, and experience to protect and restore fragile wetland ecosystems.
Our work includes disabling drainage tiles to re-flood former wetlands, removing invasive/undesirable plant species, providing erosion control, creating and enhancing riparian buffer zones, and re-establishing rich wetland flora by planting, seeding, and maintaining genetically-appropriate native species.
