Site Design

Our Ecological Design Approach is a blend of science and art, ecosystem services and ecological functions.

At AES, we seek to design landscapes with an infusion of serious ecology. Our concepts of eco-functional site design rest not only on the time-honored precepts of landscape architecture, but also draw from the wellspring of ecological science and the Land Ethic espoused by Aldo Leopold.

Our design services are strongly rooted in ecological sustainability principles. Eco-functional design is the approach with which we arrive at a design and proposed project solutions.

We believe that a design solution must first and foremost respect the ecological integrity of the site. Sustainability in design is only as strong as its foundation in eco-functional principles.

In the practice of design, Nature itself is our guide. As ecologists, landscape architects, designers, and engineers, we follow a science-first process that roots the design in the site-specific needs of the project.
