Shane Murphy is an Associate Ecologist with five years of various experiences working in both scientific research and environmental contracting. Murphy joined AES in 2015 starting in the Seneca Falls, NY contracting office and joined the Philadelphia, PA consulting office in 2016.
He excels at conducting field research, analyzing data, and making sense of results related to aspects of biodiversity and wildlife management. Murphy has had several positions all over the northeast where he was able to develop a variety of ecological skills and have a positive impact in the process.
Murphy served as a restoration technician in central/western New York, where he performed invasive plant control, planting, brush cutting, and prescribed burns. Highlighted projects include an island restoration process on the Niagara River through the New York Power Authority, where he had a major part in planting wetland emergents and communicating with the engineers on the project. He has extensive knowledge in avian point counts, wildlife management techniques, ecological restoration, and data gathering.
