Maya Yomboro is a restoration crew member for Applied Ecological Services in Albany, New York. She joined AES in October 2017 and has been restoring parts of the Albany Pine Bush and surrounding areas. She is a recent graduate from SUNY Cobleskill’s Wildlife Management program. While in college she took many classes pertaining to ecology and habitat restoration. Some of her favorite classes were plant and animal identification.
Maya enjoys outdoor recreation, plant, and animal identification, working hands-on with wildlife, and environmental restoration. Over the past two summers she has worked in the Midwest and southern states, mist netting and tracking threatened and endangered bats. Maya plans on attending graduate school in the future and is planning on studying threatened and endangered mammals. She has a great interest in ecology and habitat restoration.
