Lydia Sweeney joined AES as a Plant Science student nearing graduation with a Bachelor of Technology from SUNY Cobleskill. Through her studies, she has a background in the natural sciences, including ecology, hydrology, restoration, and plant identification. In her role as a Restoration Field Crew Member, she’ll be responsible for invasive species control, reestablishment of native landscapes, and native seed collection.
Previously, Lydia worked at a nursery and landscaping firm where her responsibilities included landscape design, plant installation, and project maintenance. In her several years there, she gained a great deal of experience in these areas while also honing her communication skills assisting customers.
