Jason Behrends is a Site Safety and Health Manager in our Indiana office. In this role, Jason performs on-the-ground project execution to prep, install, and maintain ecological restorations. His work involves use of many restoration applications, including prescribed fire, herbicide application, and operating specialized equipment. His strengths include plant field identification, planning and implementing erosion control measures, understanding and following construction plans and designs, soil conservation and stormwater management in agricultural lands, and maintaining natural resources areas. His previous linear corridor project experience includes water mainline installation and highway right-of-way wetland restoration and prairie installation.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Reclamation, Environment, and Conservation, Jason spent the next year as Crew Leader for the Conservation Corps of Minnesota and Iowa. He was the direct liaison for involved parties to ensure completion of conservation projects for federal, state, and county agencies. As part of this work, he provided herbicide and progress reports to the MN Department of Natural Resources.
