Benjamin Staehlin is a conservation and restoration scientist specializing in native species protection in high quality habitats. He has strong experience in restoration management, science writing, and data collection and analysis. He previously led a field restoration crew to control invasive species and improve native habitats at over 30 sites for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County.

His expertise includes wetland delineation, tree surveying, rare plant and amphibian monitoring, native plant cultivation, seed collection, invasive species removal, plant tissue sectioning, GPS and aerial photo navigation, and invertebrate zoology dissection.
