Government Services

Public institutions are the most important stewards of land in our country.

Federal, state, and local agencies whose purpose is land and water conservation have profound influence over, and obligation to, the stewardship of resources.

Consider, also, that the consolidated landholdings of public institutions make our government bodies, if combined, the largest landowner in the U.S. Stewardship of public lands is also clearly an important obligation of these land-owning public institutions.

AES works alongside, with, and for public agencies at all levels to help them in their role of land, water, and wildlife stewards. With a reputation for credible ecological science and decades of applied experience with native ecosystem restoration, AES lends proven sustainability principles to every project.

Federal-level projects vary broadly – from soil carbon research with sweeping implications for climate change that has been presented to the White House Office of Science – to construction management of the Jackson Park Restoration for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – to aerial imaging for wildfire hazard on remote Bureau of Land Management properties.

State and local projects are equally diverse – ranging from design/build municipal stream restorations, to county-wide planning for nature preserves, to seed and plant sales for restorations large and small.

Our range of services, customized to project needs, includes:

  • Comprehensive Ecological Consulting Services
  • Assessment, Inventory, + Research
  • Natural Resource Management Planning
  • Stormwater Planning, Engineering, + Design
  • Green Infrastructure Planning, Design/Build
  • Ecological Restoration Construction + Management
  • Aerial Imaging + Remote Sensing
  • Local Genetic Native Seed + Plants

Approach

In prairies, wetlands, savannas, and woodlands across our country, AES provides scientific underpinnings for land planning and management of public lands.

Our consulting and restoration work frequently involves regulatory-driven issues that require the rigor of defensible science and proven, verifiable methods. Whether regulatory or otherwise motivated, a project undertaken by AES will always be infused with benefits derived from a focus on ecosystem health and sustainability principles.
