APPLIED ECOLOGICAL SERVICES INC. an international integrated ecological services firm headquartered in Brodhead Wisconsin is seeking to fill an exciting new role in the Company. They a have a need for a CONSULTING BUSINESS MANAGER with exceptional leadership skills, strong business skills and a well rounded background in accounting, contract administration, project management, information technology, and general business operations. Specifically we are seeking an individual who would have a 4 year degree in business administration or Accounting, preferable a Masters degree and 3-5 years of experience in an Engineering or Consulting firm. The individual must be used to working in a fast paced, growth oriented environment. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office products and QuickBooks and familiarity with and ability to perform database work. The individual selected will be professionally aware of and proficient with writing and executing contracts, including AIA contracts, and government regulations for contracts. Senior Ecologist in our Pennsylvania Office
Currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to work as a senior ecologist. Primary duties will include assisting the branch manager in managing and implementing a variety of projects including conservation development planning, wetland delineations, habitat and natural resource inventories and assessments, watershed assessments, permitting, natural resource planning, shoreline restoration, soil bioengineering, and other natural resource-related projects.
The selected individual must be committed to science, yet sensitive and responsive to the needs of clients. The senior ecologist must be proficient and comfortable in performing multiple tasks within tight time constraints. Selected individual must be self-starters and comfortable working with limited supervision.
Selected individual must have strong plant identification skills; experience conducting wetland delineations and natural resource inventories; experience preparing restoration plans; a solid background in applied ecology; at least three years project management experience; and experience with local, state and federal regulations regarding wetlands and natural resources. Experience in conservation development planning, basic landscape architecture, water quality monitoring and planning, are preferred.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, project management skills, and a graduate degree in one of the biological sciences are required. Candidates with strong computer skills, including a background in Windows, Word, Excel, GIS and CAD are preferred.
Landscape architects with strengths in areas described above will also be considered.

Field crew members near Waterloo, NY
Position available is for limited term employment with the potential to become full time. Primary responsibilities include: all aspects of restoration work such as planting, seeding, erosion control methods, brush cutting, prescribed burns, light equipment operation, herbicide application, and various other tasks. Preferred education is B.A. in natural resources, or other related training. Position will require new employee to acquire herbicide applicators license within 30 days of start date. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds on a regular basis. Valid driver’s license required, New York driver license preferred. Overnight trips will be required. Pay is based on experience. Must be 18.

Field crew members near Kansas City, KS
This position is 100% in the field, starting in April 2010. The primary responsibility is to complete ecological restoration work in the field. This position is native landscaping type work. Primary responsibilities include planting, seeding, applying mulch, erosion control materials and light equipment operation. The project sites are primarily located in the Kansas City area; crews will mobilize from the Lawrence, Kansas office in company vehicles.
Must be 18. A pre-employment drug screen is required.

Nursery Assistant in Lawerence, KS
Applied Ecological Services, Inc/Kaw River Restoration Nursery located in Lawrence, KS is looking for a full time seasonal (April- September) nursery assistant. This position will participate in all tasks related to the native plant industry: order filling, seed collection and inventory maintenance. Hours are subject to weather and client demands, but hours are generally, M-F 7:30am -5:00pm. The season is May-September. This is a great opportunity to get experience in the horticulture/native plant industry.
