Branching out

AES is growing in many ways to better serve the land as well as our clients, adding dozens of professional ecologists, landscape architects, project supervisors and support staff in the past year. In this issue you’ve already been introduced to Josh Lippold in Kansas; now meet two more newcomers below:

John Bell, Director of Consulting Services A doctoral student in the department of biological sciences at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, John Bell brings an exciting new realm of management expertise to AES’ Brodhead, WI headquarters. No stranger to the world of ecological science, he graduates in December with a Ph.D. in biology with special emphasis in the area of evolutionary ecology, pollination biology, plant ecology and botany. He has published numerous papers in the field of biology and has held memberships in the American Institute of Biological Sciences, the Ecological Society of America, the American Society of Naturalists and other notable institutions.

Kim Chapman, Senior Ecologist Heading up the AES consulting office in Edina, MN is senior ecologist Kim Chapman, who holds a Ph.D. in conservation biology from the University of Minnesota – St. Paul. Working alongside ecologists Doug Mensing and Lee Marlowe, Chapman’s areas of expertise include land and watershed evaluation, natural resource planning, ecological management and restoration, mapping and GIS. A widely published author and presenter, Chapman most recently spoke at a kick-off meeting for the Clean Air Minnesota Ozone Reduction Initiative in Minneapolis.
